Sapinhaut Fort

Built in 1991, the artillery fort of Sapinhaut is one of the latest developments of works
fortified buildings built in Switzerland and particularly on the Grand St-Bernard axis.

This device is made up of the forts of Bourg-St-Pierre, Dzondène (Commeire) and Sapinhaut.

These works replaced the old artillery works.

The 12 cm strong lm of Sapinhaut could intervene effectively for the benefit of the infantry troops between Orsières,
Sembrancher and Bovernier, or between Martigny-Bourg and Chamoson.
