The Saxon Castle was built at the end of the 13th century under the authority of Phillipe of Savoy. Today, only the dungeon remains of this castle. The tower is an emblematic landmark of the village, standing proudly in the heart of the apricot orchards.
Its outside walls are remarkably well preserved. The nearby chapel and the tower are the only remains of the fortress. Inside, a narrow spiral staircase leads to the top of the tower. There is a breathtaking view of the hillsides and the Rhone River from the top of this building.
It is possible to walk to the tower from the village square. The round trip takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes, and has a vertical difference of 300m. You can enjoy a variety of different natural habitats on this walk, such as forests, apricot trees, vineyards and a small stream.
